“Bros abeg me i get important place to go this night i wan enter club”, that was the response i got after pleading with a man to let me barb before him,. I sat down on the chair with my eyes looking sleepy and red an effect of the weed i smoked……… I could’nt wait for my turn i shouted “oga hurry barb him hair you no see say i dey wait” that did the trick, it got to my turn and finally i was done, my phone kept ringing through the period i was doing my hair it was maggi my manager,…. I finally picked ” were are you? Are you checking your time? Why are you not answering your phone?
Please maggi can you pick a cab and come and carry me from my house, i’v been in the saloon, she acepted so i rushed home, put on my gen and and jumped into the shower to freshen up, as i came out my phone rang and it was her she said she was outside i directed her in, when she got into my place she complemented me ur place is nice, thank you! And ur hair is awesome, thank you! And i apologised for being late, she helped me pack my things into the cab while i dressed up, i made sure i didnt forget anything xpecially my “weed” and off we went as i took a deep breath and told myself you can do it..

We arrived at the gate of the vanue and the crowd was massive, i felt fear as i sat in the car, maggi went out to beckon on the bouncers to open the gate that i was a contestant in my mind i was like make this bouncer’s no fall my hands make them open the gate o!. It seem God had heard my cry and the gate swung open as maggi got back in the car,.. I breath a sign of relife,.. We packed my costumes from the car and made way to the dressing room back stage, i was late and everybody was shocked to see me like there were expecting i didnt show up, in my mind i said “see all this bad belle people una juju no catch me” i greeted the male contestants and wish them luck, we were just 3 male contestants, one from year 3 the other from year 2, i was the novic a year one boy, i went across to greet the female contestants, they were 5 girls two year one and 3 year two girls…………. My manager came in with my tag i was contestant number 3, because i came late buh i liked it that way,.
so i could learn from the other two contestants and do better with my performance…………………

As i sat down sweating and breathing heavily like mike tyson in a round four boxing match, my manager kept telling me you can do it i belive in you, she was good and i was lucky to have her cause i know every other contestant was jealous of me that night. The show had begun one artist was performing up stage and after that was our unity dance…

Lets welcome the contestants for their unity dance, the m.c announced. it was like i was hit with an ice block i felt cold and so tensed up, the female contestants made their way up stage through the right entarance while we made our way throught the left entrance, the crown erupted with cheers and screams, am sure it was the bum shorts the girls were wearing, we the males wore a blackjean, with blue t-shirts while the girls wore a black bum shorts and a blue top,. For a second i thought i had forgotet the dance steps.., “omo see fu*kup nah so i go fall my hands” i stil had room for crazy thoughts in my head as i adviced myself to focus. The d.j played our song and and just like magic in a cartoon it all came back to me and i started dancing we all danced perfectly well and the crowd cheered, it got to the part we were to do our individual free style and leave the stage, as i watched the girls one after the other check, twist, and wine their a$$ to the amazement of the crowd and even me a contestant at a point my oga down below, started giving signs of excitement too i had to tell him this is an important bisness dont come and ruin it for me by stylishly re-adjusting it…lolz,. It got to my turn i was the last contestant and i said to myself these the time to try a few new steps, steal the love of the crowd and the judges, at that period of the contest alanta was the reining dance and jerking just came out so i combine jerking with atlanta and the crowd erupted everybody stood up from their seat in cheers and screams as i walked back to the dressing room even my manager was blown away and she asked me were i learnt that step from?. I smiled and huged her i was able to build my confidence and boldness.
