Gerald la!d his head on the edge of Sade’s bed, his hands in her hands. He was fast asleep.

Sade woke up confused,looking around the room. The it hit her, she remembered all that happened.

Beside her she could see Gerald’s head, she tickled his palm to draw his attention.

Gerald felt the s£nsat!on in his palm, slowly he opened his eyes. Seeing sade awake he screamed attracting the nurses on duty.

He gathered Sade in his hands mumbling ” I’m sorry” tears of joy flowed freely.

Checking his phone he realised it was few minutes past 4. The nurses asked her how she felt. Which she replied ” how long have I been here?”. ” Since yesterday evening” Gerald replied.

” My mom! Bukola! They will both be worried” sade said getting to her feet.

The nurses immediately put her back to rest. ”

Relax dear” the oldest of them said hushing her. ” While don’t you give me mummy’s number so I can reach her” Gerald told sade handing his phone to her.

Placing a call to Sade’s mom, the elderly woman gave a shout of joy hearing her daughter’s name. ” What hospital is she?” She asked after Gerald explained everything to her.

” El Bethel ma, the one along kosofe road”, ” all right my dear I’ll be there soon”
” There’s no need hurrying,right now she’s okay. Come when the day is brighter” he advised the woman. ” Can I speak with her?”
Gerald looked at sade and saw that she was already asleep; the effect of the new drugs administered on her. ” No ma, she’s asleep.

When you come in the morning I’m sure she’ll be awake by then”.

” All right my dear God bless you”
Gerald ended the call. He couldn’t sleep till 6:30 am. He placed a call to segun and Tony.

The two of them had sluggishly walked into the ward. As soon as they got beside the bed sade opened her eyes.

Segun froze.

He immediately went on his kneels. ”
Sade” he started slowly. ”

Please forgive me, it was all my idea.
Initially we all had a deal, but after you and Gerald got intimate he fell in love with you and told me he is ready to quit playing games.”

” He said he’s ready to spend the rest of his life with you, I got jealous and angry. I wanted you for myself. Gerald wanted to discard the sextape, probably he forgot so I used it against him”

” I… Planted it in the player yesterday” he mumbled slowly. ” Gerald loves you Sade”
” Please forgive him Sade” Tony seconded joining Segun on his kneels. “I would never forgive my self if something terrible had happened to you ” segun continued like a scared little child.

Sade couldn’t utter a word she just kept staring at the men in front of her. She stole a quick glance at Gerald, who sat like an helpless child almost crying.

Staring into space, she finally found her voice ” it’s all right ” tears gathered in her eyes ” you guys should please get up ” she said urging them to their feet.

” I’m not sure if I still want anything with Gerald, I thank God nothing worse than this happened ” she paused making sure she had their attention.

” I forgive you… All three of you”

Segun and Tony left to go freshen up leaving Gerald who insisted on waiting till Sade’s mom showed up.

Although they promised to return so Gerald could at least go home at least to have his bath and put something in his stomach.

Sade’s mom called immediately she got to the hospital. Gerald didn’t wast time in going to meet her at the reception.

” Oko mi, how are you? ” She asked fussing over sade. ” Mummy I’m alright, just my head and the bruises” sade told her freeing her self from her mother’s tight embrace. ”

I’ll be fine ”
” Eeh! Sade how did it happen? ” Her mother asked, eager to ear everything. ”

Mommy I can’t remember ” sade lied, while Gerald looked away in shame.

” Myself and Bukola were very worried o, thanks to this young man that called else I would have gone out of my mind ” the elderly woman smiled at Gerald.

” Mummy bukola nko? I’m sure she’ll be worried. Poor her! ”

” Yes she was super worried gan, but I’ve spoken to her. She’ll be here ”
” Now I’ve have disrupted her plans for ‘sunday service ” Sade mumbled ” mummy tell this young man to go home and rest, he hasn’t eaten since yesterday ”
” His excuse had been he didn’t want to leave me, now you’re here” Gerald was surprised at Sade’s words. She hasn’t said a single word to him since Tony and Segun left.

Does that mean she’s still concerned about him? He asked himself.

Sade’s mom begged him to go and rest, he didn’t want to leave Sade but he didn’t have a choice.

Driving home, he prayed to God to touch Sade’s heart. He just didn’t know what will become of him without Sade…
