My Best Friend

i wouldn’t say i had a thing for him then, because that’d be so awkward. i just felt that, because he stayed in America for a long time he now has that attitude. so i was listening to music when my phone started ringing, it was paul! calling. i picked up and answered “hello” he replied “Hi um how are you doing? i said, fine thanks and you? he replied,ok. he asked what i was doing? in my mind, i said i hope this call won’t end up being
boring. “nothing, just on the phone with you. he said ok, i love your voice. i laughed and said thanks. He now asked where i was staying to know if he could come visit me. I said, um i don’t really know, i just got here, but maybe when i think i could tell you to come i will. He said ok.

The next thing i heard was my name being called like i did something wrong. It was pamela, i looked at her i didn’t even say anything, still on the phone. i had to tell paul
that we will talk later. He said, “bye Sweetheart.” I laughed , sweetheart already ok o. Beech! what is it? i asked pamela. She
replied, Beech, where were you at? i told you, you were going to help me with my hair. I looked at her and said ” Iya! what’s with
the attitude? how do you mean. she said. i told her, Nevermind, come let’s braid your hair. I just braided her hair. we were not a word to each other, i figure that, I should bring up something, anything! So i said, Pam, um look i know it sounds weird and totally none of my business: but are you having s*x? she let out
this loud laugh and started patting me on the laps really hard as if i said something funny. I just smiled and asked her what was funny? she said, you! What a question. I replied, i just felt i
should because of the condoms. She now said. oh! about that i thought you said you don’t know about it, so why do you wanna know now? I kinda got angry, i told her to forget it. she said, fine.

I stood was about to leave when we both heard a knock on the gate and her phone ringing that instant. She picked up ( The way she answered the phone, i figure it was her so called boyfriend.

So she jumped up her b0s0ms did the same. I notice she wasn’t wearing a bra with her pert b0s0ms. She ran along to open the gate. The next i saw was her kissing this guy like in the movies. I just shaked my head and was still standing there. They stopped and was coming towards me. ” um, baby this is my best friend
the one i told you was gonna come and she pecked him. the guy replied, “oh! my she is just as you said (beautiful) it is nice to finally meet you. I replied thanks and you too even though pamela never told me about you.
Pamela started laughing. He was still looking at me. Pamela now said “c’mon let’s go inside.”we all went inside. Jeff wasn’t in the living room as i expected and i don’t want to be in the midst of those who can’t just stop
lip-locking, i went upstairs and immediately Jeff was coming out of his room all dressed up. I looked at him so curious to know where he was going. I asked him, ” Where are going to?” He said, oh! just to see some friends, you wanna come with me? I thought about it and said, No. I now asked him why his friends can’t come over, i mean he just came back yesterday. He said, oh it doesn’t matter. He now came closer to me and said, “or you don’t want me to go?” He smiled. His breathe and white open sparkling teeth blew me away. I came back to life in the next 5 seconds. I said, um i’m not holding you. was about to leave, he dragged me back, i pushed him away, i smiled even though i think i was shy!

I could my feel mu cheeks turning red. I now said, please leave me alone. still smiling, i just turn and left again. I turned around and he was still looking at me. I just smiled. I went over to the balcony. Few minutes later, i could see him walking over to the gate. I was just admiring his physique. After that i decided to go downstairs to check on Pamela and her kissing tool. i didn’t see them in the living room. i was wondering where she went to, because i know i didn’t see her leave or boyfriend too. I went
towards her room, i notice the door wasn’t locked. i opened it a little bit, she wasn’t there. I started calling her, she didn’t
answer. i tried her cellphone, same thing. Then my mind went to the condoms! her kissing tool! my room too! I rushed downstairs, went over to my room. it was locked. started laughing, i had no idea why i was laughing. i got angry and
started knocking on the door, kicking it too. Shouting her name.

Pamela! pamela! open the door. No response. I now said, your mum is back. Immediately, i could hear the bed squeaking and human beings panicking. I
stood there, i didn’t say anything. i practically went numb. i could feel my eyes trying to let out tear drops, i just hold it in.

Everything she said made me feel she doesn’t even want me here. i just didn’t get it. Immediately i heard footsteps coming from the passage. iit was pamela’s mum. I looked at her shocked and greeted her immediately. ” good evening, ma” oh! good
evening, Jennifer how are you? i replied, I’m fine, ma you? she replied tired o, my dear. where is everyone? i replied, Pamela is
upstairs, Jeff went out. she looked at me, went out?! i said yeah! went out. she now said ok. man! today was stressful and I’m even traveling tomorrow and don’t even know when I’m coming back. I replied, oh! to where? she now said, lagos my dear. i need to call one of my friends to know…….. she started
murmuring, i couldn’t even hear her. I now said ok. i went into my room, she left.

I was in my room thinking about everything pamela said to me. It still gave me this impression that she doesn’t want me here. I started thinking about going home, then for a moment I just felt I should just forget about everything that just happened……. I was bored!
The T.V in my room seems not to be working. Absolutely nothing to do at that moment. I decided to call paul. I don’t usually call a boy first! I mean c’mon! We girls do that. So I decided to call him, when I saw I had no credit
gosh! I totally gave up. It was 7:09pm that day, I slept off. When I woke up it was around 10:35pm. I couldn’t even believe it, I just got up. Still yawning. I just got out of my room to my
surprise I saw pamela, I just looked at her didn’t say anything to her, she didn’t say a word to me either and went upstairs, she had only p@anties on and a disturbing T-shirt which says: ” f**k me now”. I went over to the kitchen to get something to eat, because I was so hungry. I saw a plate of jellof rice in the
microwave which kept calling my name. “Jennifer, come eat me”

I stretched out my hands and got the rice out and had a spoon of it, I couldn’t resist it, cause I was so hungry, but I don’t know who has the rice, so I just kept it back in the microwave like I never really touched it. Was about to leave, pamela just came in.

“That’s your food, if you want to eat it, fine! If you don’t want, I don’t care” she now rolled her eyes, turned around and left. I just
laughed and brought out the plate of rice and started eating it, immediately! Jeff came into the kitchen. “Hmm….where have you been? ” he asked me. With the rice still in my mouth. “Um was sleeping”. “Oh I see” he said. So what time did you get back home? (Looking for water! The food so spicy) ” around 8 and my mum freaked da hell out. He said. *drinking the water* “yeah, when you left, she came back and was asking about you, I told her you went out, the look on her face you know” he replied,

“yeah, she Wasn’t really happy” his phone started ringing, he picked up. I had no idea who it was, but I know it was a girl, because of the way he answered the call. Was done with my rice, was about to leave, he tapped me and was giving me this look like I should stsy and wait for him and I was giving him this look,
like no! I’ve to go, I now left ahead over to my room, took a shower, went over to my bed, wasn’t really feeling sleepy, because I slept before. So I started thinking about the issue I
was having with pamela, and I felt it wasn’t right. Even though, it’s not my fault! In anyway. I just felt I should talk to her. I got
up and went upstairs, straight to her room. It was locked, so I had to knock, I did. Who is it?
It’s me, I replied. Hmmm, what do you want? “Just to talk to you pam, I don’t know what I did to you, feeling guilty over nothing.
Please open the door” “Yeah, right” she said and got up to open the door. I got in closed the door and looked at her, started laughing, she did too. “Aww! I missed you” she said. “Me too” we hugged each other and
started laughing again. “I feel silly, please forgive me” I said.

She was like oh please forget about that, I’m sorry too for everything I said to you, it was so childish and uncalled for, I just didn’t mean it, i’m sorry she said. We hugged each other again and started laughing and crying. Then I la!d on her bed. We started talking and she brought up the s*x stuff. “How was it?

That would be cool, good night, I said.

“Nyt, love you” she said, love you too, I replied. K closed the door and went downstairs. Put the t.v on. The dstv was f***king up, so I saw “titanic” the movie, I decided to watch it. Even though I’ve watched it before. I was watching it when jeff came downstairs with boxers on! Nothing else! I just looked at him, I
didn’t say anything. He did the same too. “Hey you! What you watching? Titanic, I said. Oh! That movie, that got good love scenes you know. I started laughing, “yeah, they do” he sat beside me, I adjust a little bit and smiled. Still watching the movie and kinda like glancing at him to know if he was looking at
me. Then turned and smiled. The next thing I heard was “Gosh!

That booobs” I started laughing. It was actually in the movie when Jack was drawing a self portrait of rose and she was Unclad. So I had to fast forward it! He was like, “whaaaaat! What are you doing? Give me that remote” I was like no. He came closer trying to get the remote, I pushed him away, my hands was up with the remote. He kept struggling to get the remote. I was laughing and screaming. “Get off! Jeff” I said. Then I was about to like give him the remote, because he was all over me.

But he was closer and he stopped, his face and body was close to mine with his brown eyes, I couldn’t stop staring at. We were so close to each other. I held my breath. Then he put his lips on mine. I didn’t push him away that instant. He kept kissing me and I was totally enjoying it. I was lost then for a moment I came
back to my senses. I pushed him away and I had my hands on my mouth. I looked at him, he started laughing. What? He said. I didn’t say anything I just got up and left. [
