Must Read: Deceit (A Short Story) By Amponsem Akosua - Season 1 - Episode 20

I woke up in the midnight, called him that I really need him at home that my sickness had graduated, he didn't seemed worried and I felt maybe he had suspected me somehow but to my surprise I saw him drove in at about 6am, I quickly covered myself with the duvet and started shivering, he came in and I didn't bother to look at him that was when he knew it was serious, he kissed my forehead and brought me to the nearest hospital near our house.

"could this be Chuks" I said to myself

If not for the evidence I've gotten I will doubt he been a scammer. The doctor attended to me I recommended I stayed till afternoon.

"baby I want you to stay by my side today"

"I know love but let me go home, freshen up and bring you something to eat." he said as he kissed me on the lips.

I can't deny the fact that I love him but I just have to let go before something more severe happens. I watched him go and dialed Commissioner's number, I suggested he sends men who are not in uniform and that I'm at the hospital, I will be in the hospital till afternoon or evening so they can come around in 2hrs time.
He understood why I prefer the 'criminal investigation department' cops, I sent a text where I typed the address of the hospital to him.

Chuks didn't disappoint me, he was back early to sit by my side and watch me recover from my fake 'malaria'. He had barely sat down when they came in, I feigned sleep instantly, I backed his side. He knew my sleeping was fake.

"Mr. Adewale you are under arrest" they brought out their arrest warrant and IDcards and showed him. He gentlemanly followed them. I heard him told the doctor to inform me that some men without uniforms had came to take him away. I was deeply hurt and my heart bled.

I met Commissioner's missed calls on my phone, he had called to know if his men had reached my side. I dialed his number and apologized for not responding to his call. He also told me they've arrested MR and MRS Ndubisi, the scammer's so called parents.

The doctor came and I told him I needed to be discharged as I was very fine, he didn't press it any further. I was discharged a couple of mins after Chuks' arrest.
