I’m the best man for Super Eagles coaching job – Michael Nsien

Nigerian-American, Michael Nsien has claimed he is the right man to succeed Jose Peseiro as the Super Eagles head coach.

The Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) are in the hunt for a new coach for the Super Eagles after Jose Peseiro’s left the post last month.

The NFF have reportedly received applications from local and expatriate coaches since the position was declared vacant last week.

Nsien has however staked claim for the job insisting he has what it takes to be next head coach of the Super Eagles.

“I am the best of both worlds,” Nsien said during an interview with TVC.

“As a Nigerian-American, I have a passion for the Super Eagles; I also know the responsibilities that come with that position as head coach.

"I have experience working in an environment that spares no expenses in technology, has top scouting infrastructure, and coaching collaboration from top to bottom.

“I know where we are at in Nigerian football, and I know the gap that exists. I can bridge the gap and help us reach the level that we should be at in world football. It’s time to change course and move forward. I want to put smiles on the faces of our people.”

The 43-year-old is currently the head coach of the United States U-19 team.

The former defender once represented Nigeria at the U-23 level.

He was part of the U-23 side that failed to qualify for the 2004 Olympics in Athens.
