Don’t Move: Netflix Acquires Sam Raimi-Produced Thriller, Leads Revealed

Netflix has acquired worldwide rights to the Sam Raimi-produced horror thriller Don’t Move, Variety reports. According to the outlet, the project will be led by Kelsey Asbille (Yellowstone) and Finn Wittrock (The Big Short).

50 Stages of Fright co-directors Brian Netto and Adam Schindler directed the movie based on a script written by Intruders scribes T.J. Cimfel and David White. Variety also reported that Netflix will release Don’t Move worldwide, except in Poland and the Commonwealth of Independent States. No release date has been set yet for the movie.

In a 2022 interview with IndieWire, Raimi — known for his films like the Evil Dead franchise, the three Tobey Maguire-led Spider-Man features, Darkman, Drag Me to Hell, and more — talks about his next project, in which he will serve as a producer.

“Alex and the team at Hammerstone as well as our friends at Capstone are the ideal production partners as we bring this compelling and twisted tale to light,” said Raimi. “I am delighted to collaborate again with our co-directors Adam and Brian on this incredibly frightening and tense story full of so many twists and turns – it will deliver a fantastic horror punch to the audience!”

What is Don’t Move about?

Per the film’s synopsis, Don’t Move will center on a seasoned serial killer, “who injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent while the two of them are isolated deep in the forest. As the agent gradually takes over her body, she must run, hide, and fight for her life before her entire nervous system shuts down.”
