Pastor reportedly shoots dead colleague in Osun

The Osun State Police Command has confirmed that a pastor, Timothy Abiola, shot dead a fellow pastor, Bamiji Ilori, in the Ikire area of the state last week.

The Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Mrs. Folasade Odoro, who confirmed the report in a statement on Sunday, said the reason for the action was yet to be ascertained, although, the name of the church of the two pastors was not stated.

The statement reads, “Abiola shot his colleague, who was also his friend, with a locally-made gun. The gun has been recovered by the police and the incident happened in Ikire, Osun State.

“The suspect was arrested following a report made to the police by a relative of the deceased cleric.

“Ilori has confessed to the police.

“Investigation into the killing has started and the suspect will soon be charged to court.

“The remains of late pastor has been deposited at the Catholic Hospital’s morgue in the Oluyoro area, Apomu, for autopsy,” the PPRO stated.
