We didn't expect to score four goals, says Rangers' Madu

The Flying Antelopes pummelled their fellow title chasers, although their midfielder was surprised by the manner of their ruthlessness

Chibuzor Madu is delighted Enugu Rangers easily dispatched Rivers United to pick three points in the Match Day 34 of the Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) on Sunday.

The Flying Antelopes thrashed the Pride of Rivers 4-0 to register their 15th win of the 2016 NPFL season and Madu has stated that they were aware that their opponents were vulnerable so they went for the three points.

"It is good that we got the three points in an excellent manner," Madu told Goal.

"We knew Rivers United are vulnerable and we long targeted to get all three points from them which we did.

"The goals were massive but I must confess we didn't expect to score that much.

"It shows the array of talent in our squad."

The former Enyimba defender said that his team will make it three wins in a row when they face Shooting Stars in Ibadan on Sunday.

"Our next assignment is at Shooting Stars and we look forward to extending our winning streak," he added.

The Flying Antelopes are league leaders with 54 points from 32 games.
