A Rangers fan avoided serious injury after falling from the stands during a friendly match with RB Leizpig. Mark Warburton’s men were beaten 4-0 at the Red Bull Arena by the Bundesliga side.

A travelling supporter tweeted a picture of a fellow fan lying on the concrete below a balcony in the stands – and suggested the drop was around 20ft.

Jim Pirie tweeted: “A Rangers fan just fell over the barrier from about 20 feet on to the concrete below. “Taken away on a stretcher. Not good.”

Leipzig have since confirmed the incident and stated the fan had not been seriously injured.It is alleged the fan had been attempting ahandstand when he fell.
