Chile 2015: Amuneke Wary Of Mali’s Threat

In his post match remark after the game against Mexico, Amuneke said:“It was a difficult match against Mexico in which both teams did their best.

We give credit to them (Mexico) because of their performance and its level of play.


“We are happy to be in the final and have the chance to defend the world title. Mali is a good team, Africa’s champion.

This is going to be a tough but interesting challenge.”

Meanwhile, Amaju Pinnick, the president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), has also thrown his weight behind the Golden Eaglets to lift a 5th FIFA U17 World Cup title.
Pinnick who was at Concepcion, Chile to watch the Golden Eaglets defeat Mexico 4-2 in the Semifinal clash expressed optimism that the reigning champions will defend their title.


Speaking with newsmen after the game, Pinnick said:“These boys have done Nigeria proud.

They will go up against Mali on Sunday with great confidence and discipline and emerge victorious.


“I’m very excited, not only with the result, but the way the boys came fighting back after that early goal by Mexico.

I keep saying that we have the potential to be world champions in several areas of endeavour.”
