Ikorodu United vs Shooting Stars abandoned due to crowd trouble

The Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) fixture between Ikorodu United and Shooting Stars, was abandoned on Sunday because of crowd trouble.
Chinedu Onyelonu put the home side ahead in the 25th minute, but Ajani Ibrahim equalized for the Oluyole Warriors in the 89th minute.

The goal infuriated the home supporters, who ran onto the pitch and disrupted the match.


The referee ordered the players off the pitch and into the dressing rooms, before a decision was taken to call off the game.

A verdict is expected from the League Management Company (LMC) in the coming days.
