One Killed As Youths Protest Result In Lagos
AT least one person has been confirmed dead, while several others were injured in the Ogudu Ojota area of Lagos State after some hoodlums went on the rampage.
PUNCH Metrolearnt that there was heavy gun fire in the area as the hoodlums vandalised some vehicles parked by the roadside.
The incident happened on Sunday evening on Alhaji Abbas Street.
A resident, Bukola Osunde, said trouble started immediately the result of the governorship election for the state was announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Akinwunmi Ambode, was declared the winner of the election.
Osunde said, “It has been serious chaos since the election result was announced. They have been shooting sporadically and vandalising property.
“I cannot say precisely the number of people killed, but there is confusion everywhere and the shootout is between members of the Peoples Democratic Party and the APC.”
The Police Public Relations Officer, Lagos State Command, Kenneth Nwosu, confirmed the incident, adding that one person was killed.
He said, “Some hoodlums on Alhaji Abbas Street, Ogudu, this evening, engaged in a free-for-all and damaged vehicles and other property of residents.
“The Commissioner of Police, Kayode Aderanti, has ordered their arrest.
“We will soon bring them to justice.”
Nwosu said normalcy had been restored in the area.
