The Olympic bronze medallist is eager to revive his career started with the Rossoblu
Nigeria striker Sadiq Umar has expressed his delight after being unveiled as a Bologna player after completing a season-long loan move from Serie A giants AS Roma.
The 19-year-old, who was part of Nigeria's squad that won bronze at the men's football event of the Rio 2016 Olympics, met the press for the first time as a Rossoblu player on Thursday at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara alongside fellow new recruit Federico Viviani.
"This is a great opportunity," Umar told the press.
"I can’t wait to get started for the fans, and everyone.
"I want to thank the director for bringing me here.
"I’m thankful and I will do my best.
"It’s a great opportunity to play with [Mattia] Destro, [Sergio] Flocarri, players who have been in the serie a for a long time; watching them and staying near them is something I will learn from.
"Playing from the Olympics is a high level in football.
"Getting the bronze medal is a step forward in my career and a good feeling."
Sadiq made his senior debut with Roma in November away at his new club Bologna, scoring his first senior goal in a 2-0 win over Genoa in December.
The highly rated striker scored twice in six appearances for the senior side last term.
