Victor Moses and Carl Ikeme missed the match through injury while Liverpool's Saido Mane started on the bench for the Teranga Lions.

Senegal were the better side in the first half with Idrissa Gueye bossing the midfield until the introduction of John Ogu in the place of Ogenyi Onazi.

Senegal took the lead in the second half through Moussa Sow but the Super Eagles equalized through Kelechi Iheanacho who scored a penalty.

Nigeria's next game will also be played at the Hive against Burkina Faso.
