Rivers United's Asekunowo eager to improve away form

The defender believes his side improving their away form will prove key to success in the league this season

Rivers United defender, Ayobami Asekunowo believes that the Port Harcourt outfit has what it takes to be champions.

Stanley Eguma's men host Plateau United, who have been in a blistering form having won their last four matches.

Asekunowo, who has played 12 matches in the league this season insisted that Rivers United has what it takes to match any team.

" We have been doing fine since the commencement of the league, although we haven't won too many matches away from home but our excellent effort at home has helped us.

Just two matches won away from home this term but I still believe that we shall pick up maximum points away from home to boost our chances of lifting the NPFL trophy,"Asekunowo.

"Plateau United have been in an excellent form, winning four matches in a row isn't a fluke, they will be a very tough nut to crack but we have the quality to match them.

"We have been preparing very well because we don't want to drop from the position we are at the moment. I'll predict that Rivers United will top the table at the end of the season while Wikki Tourist and Enugu Rangers will finish second and third."
