Federation Cup: River Angels defeat Nasarawa United, qualify for final

Rivers Angels are into the final of this year’s Women Federation Cup.
The Port Harcourt team needed a 32nd minute goal from Osinachi Ohale, to win the encounter 1-0 in their semi-final clash played in Enugu on Wednesday.

Ohale’s effort from 22 yards, proved to be the winner for the ‘Pride of Rivers State.’ Although the Lafia side,Nasarawa United, pushed hard for an equalizer, the six-time champions held on to win the game.


Technical Adviser of Rivers Angels, Edwin Okon, attributed their victory to hard work.

“It’s a good win for Rivers Angels because we worked hard although we wanted to score more than one goal but it didn’t work out but we thank God for qualifying,” he said

“Our ability to soak up the pressure from their forwards was massive and I must commend the girls for that.”

Rivers Angels will face the winner between Bayelsa Queens and Delta Queens in the finals.
