Siasia Unmoved Despite Resounding Victory Ahead Of AFCON

Nigeria U-23 coach Samson Siasia was left unconvinced after his side walloped Gambia top league side Real Banjul 3-0 in a friendly game ahead of the U-23 AFCON in Dakar, Senegal.
Warri Wolves striker Etebo Oghenekaro grabbed a hat trick to lead his team to victory, but team’s general performance on the night was displeasing to coach Siasia.

He said he disappointed with the way the team played in the first half despite dominating the game, adding that they should not be missing chances to score goals after creating them.

I’m not impressed with what my boys displayed, I expected them to let their dominance count in front of goal and if they can’t convert these chances then we will be in trouble in Senegal.

We will keep on working on them and hopefully they will get it right.”
Oghenkaro opened scoring for the Nigeria U23s in the 25thminute from the penalty spot after skipper Sincere Seth was brought down inside the box.

The Warri Wolves star doubled the lead at the start of the second half, before he completed his hat trick minutes later after he was set up by Stanley Dimgba.

The Nigeria Dream Team VI will rest on Sunday to return on Monday to play their second test game against the Gambia U20 team.

The encounter billed to kick off by 4pm will be played at the Independence Stadium in Banjul.
