Why Super Eagles friendly with Burkina Faso may be cancelled

There are doubts over the Super Eagles’ friendly match with Burkina Faso on Monday in London.

According to CompleteSports, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), are doing all they can to ensure the game takes place.

Some of the Burkina Faso players are yet to secure British visas and on Friday night, there were rumours the friendly has been called off.

However, an NFF official insists the match could still go ahead.

“The FBF (Burkina Faso FA) called the match organiser at 7pm last night to say some of their players could not get UK visas,” he said.

“They had submitted in Morocco, where they played yesterday. Eight of the players have (visas). We are working hard to see that the match goes ahead, one way or the other.

“But things have to crystallize and a clear path is known before we can come out with an official statement.”

The Super Eagles held Senegal to a 1-1 draw on Thursday night in London.
