Super Eagles Hold B'Faso To Qualify For CHAN 2016

Nigeria’s Super Eagles have qualified for the 2016 African Nations Championship (CHAN) set to hold in Rwanda next year.

This comes on the heels of the team’s 0-0 draw against Burkina Faso in the second leg of their qualifying tie at Stade du 4 Aout, Ouagadougou on Sunday, October 25.

The host looked to overturn the 2-0 deficit in the first leg after strikes from Bature Yaro and Gbolahan Salami gave the Super Eagles home based side the upper hand going into the game.

However, Burkina Faso squandered their best chance of the game from the spot after Abia Warriors captain, Austin Oboroakpo was adjudged to have handled the ball in the box in the 21stminute.
The Eagles matched their opponent in all departments to hold on and record a 2-0 aggregate win at the end of the 90minutes.

The CHAN 2016 will kick-off on January 16 and end February 7.
