My Ever After

Shortly after my 10th year wedding anniversary my husband had asked for a divorce. He had been the primary breadwinner and the year leading up to our divorce, he had quit his job, ran up over $25,000 worth of debt on my credit cards and allowed our health insurance to lapse. I was a stay at home mom to two young children working part time teaching night classes.

When he moved out, I picked up The Secret and it gave me the determination and faith to change my life to exactly what I wanted it to be. I read the passages every day, journaled and meditated on what exactly I wanted the universe to provide. I created a vision board with everything I wanted for the second act of my life. My wish list to the universe included finding a full time position in higher education, being at my physical best and regaining my body back after having my second child, being financially independent and being out of debt, falling in love with a man that would make me laugh every day and would bring joy into my children’s lives as well. I wrote on my board that I was worthy of a partner who would not complete me but this time compliment the newest and best version of me.

A month after my husband moved out, I was hired in my dream job at my dream college and received a promotion not soon starting that job. I settled the divorce within a few months and had my ex-husband acquire almost all the debt he had created. I lost 15 pounds and later that year went on a first date with the sexiest man I had ever met. He made me laugh so much that night that 16 months later, my kids and I are still laughing at his silly jokes.

The Secret gave me a Magic Wand to create the life I am worthy of. I continue to read it every day and write down all the things I have to be grateful for. With this new profound faith and gratitude I have, the universe continues to provide blessings and gifts that I unwrap continuously.
